Hello again all my wonderful readers. Does anyone know what today is? Well, it is Wednesday, hump day, middle of the week and we made it this far day. Only two more days to go before the weekend is upon us… Yeah! Not to sound too terribly excited because I really am having a great week at work, but I can’t wait until this weekend when the weather is going to be wonderful and I will get to play in the sun outside all day long… even if that does mean working in the yard and catching up on some much needed weeding.
I think that my roses need a little tender loving care too. It is just that I am tired of being indoors when the beautiful warmth of the sun and fresh air of the great outdoors could revitalize me in seconds. I guess you could say I have a little spring/summer fever… I do hope that I am not the only one feeling this way. I am sure that some of you out there in the cyber world are outdoor fanatics like myself; if not, you should be.
Don’t worry, you can carry your laptop outside and get some fresh air while still being connected to the world via internet. That is exactly what my son does. He comes up from his man-cave in the basement of our home and spends a little time in the fresh air. I think it helps his energy levels so that he can stay up all night playing Halo and other such games with his buddies online.
Enough on that subject. Why don’t we discuss the word of the day? Yesterday we had a great word submitted by Hadley P. which did have me stumped as to its definition. Today’s word is one that I know, but I am wondering if it is often used enough in everyday language that you, my readers, would understand it?
So let’s get to the word submitted by Kim Schneider of Rapid City, SD. She has chosen the word loquacious. I know exactly what this word means and in fact can remember the day that I read it on my spelling bee list. I really had a hard time back then, but it only helped in my understanding of the word today. I, myself, can be very loquacious at times. I think it is just my personality and the fact that I love life and want to share in its joy always. By the way, I lost the spelling bee. The word I could not spell is irrelevant now, but please note that I have never misspelled it ever again.
Okay, let us move on to the word of the day and its definition. We take our definition from the online source at www.merriam-webster.com
lo·qua·cious adj \lō-ˈkwā-shəs\
— lo·qua·cious·ly adverb — lo·qua·cious·ness noun
So if you know me then you know that I, as well as most of my side of the family, are loquacious by definition. We love to talk. We love to express and share in the joy that comes from conversation. Debating is another pastime that I love. So I guess that it was just in my blood.
Well, that is all I have for now. So I guess I will be chatting with you next time. Until then, remember to Read On!!!
