Word of the Day: Senioritis

What a great day!  It is absolutely beautiful outside and here I am stuck attached to the computer.  So I think for the rest of the day I will do the majority of my work from the comfort of my sunny deck outside, as long as the wind permits me to.  For those of you who do not know South Dakota, is a very windy state.  It is nothing for us to get fifty or sixty miles per hour winds.  Living here as long as I have, I know from experience that eventually it dies down and all is back in order.  Today, however, is like I said earlier ~ beautiful… No wind and a whole lot of sunshine.  I think that I could get use to this.
Before I move to the outdoors, I think it would be prudent to finish this blog since it needs to be uploaded as soon as it is complete.  Then I will move to the deck and continue to work on the series Prime Immortals.  I really am proud of Dark Days… it is going to be a spectacular book. It’s very exciting for those of you waiting to hear little tidbits here and there.
So, let us get on with it.  Today’s word of the day comes to us from the recent high school graduate Hannah D. of Madison, SD.  She has submitted the word senioritis.  Our definition comes to us from our online source at  www.merriam-webster.com
SENIORITIS
An ebbing of motivation and effort by school seniors as evidenced by tardiness, absences, and lower grades.

Well I don’t know about you folks out there in cyber space, but I do remember having a wicked case of senioritis when I was in high school.  It is a great word, but not one that I could use in my writing on a regular basis.  I do hope that now that you’re out of school, Hannah, you’re feeling much better.  Now you can suffer adulthood with the rest of us out here… Kidding!  It is not that bad.

Just as long as I have the important stuff in my life, like my family, friends and you all important readers, I can do just about anything.

Good luck to you Hannah D.  I hope your new life out of high school is fulfilling.  College, here she comes!

As for the rest of you, don’t forget to submit your word of the day and check out the new contest online.  Until we meet again, don’t forget to Read On!!!
