Hello to all you wonderful people out there! Well, you might have noticed that I didn’t get a post up yesterday and I am truly sorry about that. I have just been crazy busy, working very hard to make sure that we stay on course with the book series. I am happy to announce that I am much farther along in the series than two days ago and I can’t wait to get them into my faithful readers’ hands.
But, enough about that. Let’s get to the business of the day and talk words. We have a rather large word today. In fact, the truth is that it is really two words that were submitted together. However, due to the nature of the word we really can’t separate them. So, thank you to Pamela Davis, one of our newest Facebook fans, for she submitted the word of the day and it is Myocardial Infarction.
Our definition comes to us from our online source www.medterms.com
Myocardial infarction: A heart attack. A sudden and sometimes fatal occurrence of coronary thrombosis, typically resulting in the death of part of a heart muscle. Abbreviated: MI.
The term "myocardial infarction" focuses on the myocardium (the heart muscle) and the changes that occur in it due to the sudden deprivation of circulating blood. The main change is necrosis (death) of myocardial tissue.
The word "infarction" comes from the Latin "infarcire," meaning "to plug up or cram." It refers to the clogging of the artery.
Well, even though I am familiar with the term, I don’t like to hear it. Nor would I probably put it in my writing. However, it is always good to expand ones knowledge and I have to say a great big thank you to each and every one of you fans who submit a word for the day. Some of them have been rather creative.
That is all for today, please join us tomorrow and remember to Read On!!!
