Word of the Day: Animadversion

Hello everyone… Hope you all had a wonderful week.  I know what you’re thinking…where have I been?  I have not been around to post on the blog and I do apologize for that.  I have been very busy with life.  So please forgive me; I will try to do better.  It is Friday and I am looking forward to a wonderful weekend filled with fun and adventure with my troops.  We have a very busy schedule starting early Saturday morning and continuing on through to Monday.  School is almost out and I find that I am excited about seeing my children more.  I say that now, but by the end of the summer I will be ready for them to be on a school schedule again.  I know this because it happens to me every year.

With that being said, I wanted to mention that we have changed the closing date for the $500 essay contest.  You will need to go to the website to find the new date.  We did this to allow for more entries.  Please make sure that you get them in on time so that we can consider everyone. Good luck and remember to have fun with it.

Let’s move on to the word of the day, submitted by Shelby Brantley of South Dakota. Shelby has given us the word animadversion.

Our definition comes to us from our online source at www.thefreedictionary.com
an·i·mad·ver·sion  (n-md-vûrzhn, -shn)
n.
1. Strong criticism.
2. A critical or censorious remark.

Well, I think that we have all been in the line of fire at some point in time when strong criticism has been used.  If you haven’t, then maybe you should reach outside the box and step out of your comfort zone.  Sometimes strong criticism is exactly what we need in order to improve upon ourselves.  I know that I always take the good with the bad and usually reap some reward along the way.  It is called life; and would it be worth living if we didn’t have a little personal self-growth along the way.  That is just my thought on the subject. Tell me what you’re thinking. Give me a little feedback by posting online or joining me on Facebook.

Until next time, remember to Read On!!!
