Word for the Day: Fortitude

Hello again, my fellow readers.  Well, today I am moving a little slower than I would like.  I spent most of the evening cleaning up after my very sick little boy, Caleb.  He has the flu; poor little man and cannot keep anything down. So while exhausted and a little rumpled, I am writing today’s blog.  Please let me apologize in advance for its briefness.  Yet I know several of my readers will understand, being parents too.  We have all been there before, I am sure.

Today’s word of the day is coming from me personally.  A fellow co-worker told me that I had the fortitude of a man possessed.  I found that interesting and decided that fortitude should be our word for the day.

Our definition comes from www.dictionary.reference.com
for·ti·tude[fawr-ti-tood, -tyood]  –noun
Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously: Never once did her fortitude waver during that long illness.

Wow, does that definition ever fit!  I find it amazing that the sentence they used as an example so totally my life right now.  Poor Caleb, lucky for him his mom has fortitude.  Life is strange sometimes, but it always has a meaning.

So what does fortitude mean to you when it comes to the Prime Immortal Series? I think that Gelmir shows great fortitude in both his quest for the lost offspring and in his strength against the darkness.  Tell me what you think.  Who do you believe has more fortitude in the series? Could it be Dylan, or maybe Alessar?  Let me know.

That’s all for now everyone.  Until we read again, have a great day and remember to Read On… H.R. Phillips
